Caring for your Crafted Jewelry

Posted by Chantel Berkley on

Hi BB and Jewelry lovers around the world!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

This week we want to chat a little on why Jewelry care is important, as well as what you can do to help ensure your pieces last longer!

First off, each of our pieces are hand made and crafted. This means each imprint you see in your metal has been stamped in individually, letter by letter, symbol by symbol. When we do this it helps to create a custom unique look to every piece! We add in dyes to help the indents pop! So the obvious goes without saying that when you shower, swim, or are active in your hand made items you are taking life away from the dyes. When doing activities like this you may also cause tarnishing on the elements. What are elements ? Elements are the chain, jump rings and clasps. We specially focus and are proud that our products are hypoallergenic do and nickel free. However adding sweat or water will create discolouration to our elements, and most hand made pieces you see on the market today.

We want your Jewlery not just from us to last, but all your pieces that you rock and love to have a long and beautiful life!

Do not sleep with your jewelry on. Why? It can cause unnecessary stress on the components and will make them more likely to break.

Do your best to keep your pieces separated from all other jewelry. Tip: use your jewelry bag that was shipped to you, this just allows the piece to not obtain unnecessary scratch marks while providing a cozy nest for your treasure. If you don't have your bag do your best to hand each item separately!

If you have any other questions on how to care leave us a comment and we would be happy to share our knowledge.
